Dave people could see coming for a long time; however, he did go down quickly after Nellie was gone. Even though he wouldn't remember anything past 10 minutes.

Nellie was a surprise to everybody with only a few people knowing the last few months; she had hoped for a miracle treatment at Mayo Clinic but was too weak for treatment when she finally got there. Being hopeful, it wasn't hopeless until the last few weeks when that last treatment was no longer possible; which was supposed to be very highly effective, if she was allowed to have it. She worked as hard as she could to get everything she could get in order while she had the strength; she really did try to sort things out for customers as long as she could do so.

Many wonderful people had real offers of help but it was just too late and disease moved too quickly to have any chance. You can't try out everything when you have no time; even for well proven cures.
